Our History

LAVA Ministries (Los Angeles Voices of Angels) was Originally founded April 4, 1994 by Vincent L. Pierson, after many appearances at various functions; he decided to take a break from the choir and pursue other avenues in Gospel. In 2002, God commissioned Vincent to start the choir again, at that time he consulted the help of Gospel Veteran - Min. Lamont Bradley & Lord Before Us Productions for Management.

 On February 17, 2003 they reassembled and vowed to become one of Los Angeles' top Gospel Ministries. Since their reformation - they have shared the stage with Tim "Bishop" Brown, Nysa Shenay, Robert Gilmore, Dr. Calvin B. Rhone, Jeffrey Pearson, Min. Tony McGill, Freda Battle & the Temple Worshippers, ReJOYce, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Edwin Hawkins, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Tonex, Hezekiah Walker, Dr. Margaret P. Douroux, Ricky Dillard, The Singletons, Keyo, and others. Their Debut Concert on April 26, 2003 was packed to capacity. On that night God really got the glory - every musical guests was good, but LAVA took the house to another level. On July 7, 2003 members of LAVA provided background vocals for Min. Tony McGill's Live Recording "Perfect Peace: Songs for the People". It’s recent release, had the buzz flowing in the Industry... Their Summer Concert "It's Getting Hot In Here" (September 6, 2003) was a big success... The Saints were IN for hours, from the First song to the Last...

On April 24, 2004 LAVA celebrated their 1st Anniversary, and the event was packed and attended by some very influential Industry hit makers. Thus allowing LAVA to make their mark in the Industry. SCGAG (Southern California Gospel Announcers Guild) nominated LAVA as Inspired Group of the Year for 2004, for which their pre-show performance was a Blessing to all in attendance.

Their 2nd Anniversary on April 23, 2005, was captured on video and broadcasted on Comcast – by over 65,000 viewers. This presentation open the door for LAVA to minister in such cites as San Pedro, CA, Pomona, CA, Altadena, CA and others. September 9, 2005 LAVA sponsored a Benefit Midnight Musical, that not only was packed, but a Financial success; The praise carried over pass 2AM…

Their Live Recording on November 26, 2005 - was witness by over 700. "This Is My Story" was released in April 2007 by Lord Before Us Records. Since it’s release – this project has gone on to bless countless of people around the country, as well as overseas. Peaking at #13 on the New Artists charts by ABC Internet Radio, it has soon become a favorite in the Southern and Eastern states. Just recently, LAVA’s covering of “He’ll Make It Alright” was chosen (by an Overwhelming decision) to be included in the “Lighten The Load” compilation CD – benefiting the National Sickle Cell Disease program, to be released in October 2007.
Their Motto is: "Letting The Anointing Flow through Songs of Praise."
